What the applicators do

Each applicator is designed to hold the two parts of the ear tag, male and female, aligned and still, so that the tag goes in correctly. That is why each Rigidtag™ type has its own applicator.

When they launch

The DLS applicators are in laboratory testing to refine their main working parts, so their market launch has moved to a later date, once the tests confirm that they work as they should.

Until the launch

Until the DLS applicators are launched, Rigidtag™ tags are applied with an applicator from our partner company, Caisley International GmbH.

Applicators that hold the tag from the outside call for extra care if the animal moves suddenly.

Instructions for use

• Before each use, make sure the applicator works properly.
• For the right way to apply Rigidtag™ tags, see Best Tagging Practice.
• After each use, remove any tissue and clean the applicator thoroughly.
• Don’t leave it where the animals are: store it in a drawer or a box, with the tags.
• While it is stored, a little lubricating spray or oil on its moving parts (pins and screws) helps it last longer.
